Traditionally, architecture has been considered one of the six Beautiful Arts. Certain buildings or other constructions are art works as they can be considered primary based on its form or structure sensible or of its aesthetic.
From ths point of view, although the means of the structure may consist of walls, columns, wroughts, ceilings and other constructive elements, its aim is to create spaces with sense where human beings can develop all type of activities. It is in this "to have sense" where you can distinguish architecture (like an art) our of the mere construction.
